Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hammond). They breezed past the Unity Reed Lions to the tune of 83-45 on Saturday. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 47-25.
It was another big night for Josh Terry, who posted 18 points in addition to seven boards and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Darius Daniels, who earned 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Hammond was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Unity Reed lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Peyton Powell, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 11 boards. Russell Robinson was another key player, going 6-for-15 on his way to 15 points.
With the win, Hammond broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 4-5. As for Unity Reed, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-11.
