Basketball Recap: Central Georgia Arts Comes Up Short

Central Georgia Arts was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 26th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the First Presbyterian Day Vikings, falling 72-38.

When it comes to explaining why Central Georgia Arts lost, don't look at Grant Waters. Despite the final result, he posted 11 points and seven boards. Maurice Fambro also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.

First Presbyterian Day found their leader in sophomore Jones Handberry, who went 8 of 18 en route to 19 points. Handberry's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Luke Judah, who went 5 for 8 on his way to 11 points and seven rebounds.

Central Georgia Arts' loss dropped their record down to 0-16. As for First Presbyterian Day, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-17 record.

Central Georgia Arts will square off against Crisp Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Central Georgia Arts is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50 points per game this season. As for First Presbyterian Day, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-35 defeat against Tattnall Square Academy on the 4th.
