Baseball Recap: North Fork Gets the Win

North Fork won the last time they faced Grand Valley and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Miners came out on top against the Cardinals by a score of 14-10. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Miners.

Jordan Gonzalez was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Bronson Hall also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

North Fork kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

North Fork's record now sits at 9-6. As for Grand Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

Looking ahead, North Fork will host Cedaredge at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Miners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bruins have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. As for Grand Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Olathe at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
