Football Recap: Sheehan Beats Xavier for Their Third Straight Victory

If Xavier wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Sheehan, they should've done a better job of containing Josh Durant. The Titans strolled past the Falcons with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 28-14 for which the team can thank Durant, who rushed for 190 yards and a pair of TDs. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 115 rushing yards.

The win was the third in a row for Sheehan, bringing their record up to 4-1. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 34.3 points over those games. As for Xavier, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sheehan will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against North Haven at 6:30 p.m. on the 24th. That matchup will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Durant and Artie McCormack IV. As for Xavier, they will face off against Hand at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
