With a playoff win on the line, Crossroads Christian rose to the challenge on Thursday. They had just enough and edged out the Cape Fear Christian Academy Eagles 2-1. The win was nothing new for the Colts as they're now sitting on three straight.

Crossroads Christian got a great performance from Bobby Bobbitt as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Crossroads Christian saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Smith, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Crossroads Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Crossroads Christian's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.
