Basketball Game Preview: Notre Dame Fighting Irish vs. Holley Hawks

Notre Dame has gone 9-0 against Holley recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Notre Dame Fighting Irish will be playing in front of their home fans against the Holley Hawks at 7:00 p.m. Notre Dame is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.5 points per game this season.

On Friday, Notre Dame needed a bit of extra time to put away Wheatland-Chili. They walked away with a 62-53 win over the Wildcats.

Notre Dame's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Fitzpatrick, who went 6 for 8 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. Those 17 points gave Fitzpatrick a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Antinore, who almost dropped a double-double on 14 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, Holley unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a hard 65-51 fall against Le Roy back in December of 2024. The Hawks' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row dating back to last season.

Notre Dame pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.0 points per game. As for Holley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.

Notre Dame strolled past Holley in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 by a score of 72-53. Will Notre Dame repeat their success, or does Holley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
