Baseball Recap: Kings Mountain Takes a Loss

Kings Mountain started off well but failed to capitalize on an early lead against South Point. They fell just short of the Red Raiders by a score of 12-11 on Monday. The Mountaineers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Red Raiders earlier this season, when they won 3-2.

Carter Roberts was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Kings Mountain: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 5-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jordan Buckner, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

Kings Mountain has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for South Point, the win snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 11-8 record.
