Baseball Recap: Dewey Comes Up Short

After flying high against Keys last Tuesday, Dewey came back down to earth. The Bulldoggers fell just short of the Sperry Pirates by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Bulldoggers have struggled against the Pirates recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Parker Garrison made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Layne Gastel, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Dewey's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Sperry, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-10 record this season.

While Dewey had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
