Peter Wheeler put up the most strikeouts he's had since back in April of 2025 on Tuesday. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk), good enough for us to rate the performance as the best he's had all season long. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Wheeler's strong effort led Rutgers Prep over Phillipsburg and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
