Soccer Game Preview: Evans vs. Effingham County

The Evans Knights will head out to face off against the Effingham County Rebels at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Effingham County will be up against a hot Evans team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Evans never let Washington County get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory on Tuesday. Fans of the Knights have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Effingham County). They put the hurt on Brantley County with a sharp 7-0 win on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rebels.

Their offense was hitting Brantley County from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Isabelle Rahn led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Evans' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 3-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those three matchups. As for Effingham County, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Evans took their victory against Effingham County when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 8-1. In that game, Evans amassed a halftime lead of 7-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
