Softball Recap: Wagener-Salley War Eagles vs. Abbeville Panthers
Wagener-Salley came out on top against Abbeville on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run sixth inning. The War Eagles skirted past the Panthers 8-7. This was a revenge game for the War Eagles: when they faced off against the Panthers last Wednesday, they had to take a 6-5 loss.
Kylee Hooker made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Jordi Wood was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Ashley Nettles, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
