Volleyball Preview: Broome Centurions vs. Woodruff Wolverines

The Broome Centurions will venture away from home to challenge the Woodruff Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Broome took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. Everything went their way against High Point Academy as Broome made off with a 3-0 victory.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-10, 25-21.

Broome was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in six consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Woodruff sidestepped Clinton for a 3-2 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Wolverines.

Woodruff took Clinton into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. After all that action, the final score was 20-25, 25-15, 24-26, 25-17, 15-10.

Woodruff can attribute much of their success to Taylor Lambert, who had 14 digs and three aces.

Broome pushed their record up to 5-3 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Woodruff, the win also got them back to even at 6-6.
