Flag Football Game Preview: Mira Mesa Marauders vs. Mission Bay Buccaneers + How To Watch

The Mira Mesa Marauders will venture away from home to take on the Mission Bay Buccaneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Mira Mesa was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 20-14 to Mission Hills. While losing is never fun, the Marauders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 228th, while the Grizzlies are ranked 37th).

Although Mira Mesa took the loss, they still got scores from Evelyn Stabile and Philippa Liu.

Mira Mesa didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Marilynnrose Meza and Liu.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mission Bay, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took down University City 21-7 on Thursday.

Mission Bay pushed their record up to 12-9-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 30.0 points over those games. As for Mira Mesa, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-8.

Mira Mesa didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Mission Bay in their previous meeting back in September, but they still walked away with a 31-25 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was the Buccaneers' Mia Siqueiros, who threw for 157 yards and three touchdowns, and also rushed for 91 yards and one TD on only 11 carries. Now that she's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Marauders still be able to contain Siqueiros? There's only one way to find out.
