Preview: York Falcons vs. Jamestown Eagles

The York Falcons will head out on the road to take on the Jamestown Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: York has struggled recently with 16 defeats in a row, while Jamestown will arrive with 19 straight wins.

Last Thursday, York came up short against Smithfield and fell 44-37.

Despite the defeat, York saw an underclassman step up: Kenlee Washington scored 19 points along with five steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Washington has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Sarah Witt, who scored 12 points along with four steals.

Meanwhile, Jamestown was able to grind out a solid win over Grafton on Thursday, taking the game 49-36.

Jamestown got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Maddie Leach out in front who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. Leach is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Vision Pretlow was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

York's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.4 points per game. As for Jamestown, their victory bumped their record up to 19-0.

York was dealt a bruising 71-7 loss at the hands of Jamestown in their previous matchup back in January. Can York avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
