La Jolla beats Patrick Henry for their fifth straight win

Recap: La Jolla Vikings vs. Patrick Henry Patriots

The La Jolla Vikings had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They blew past Patrick Henry, posting a 45-14 win on the road. The result was nothing new for La Jolla, who have now won three matches by 22 points or more so far this season.

Jackson Diehl continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 110 yards on only 11 carries, while also throwing for 235 yards and three touchdowns while completing 83.3% of his passes. Diehl is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. Carson Diehl did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 111 receiving yards and two touchdowns.

Cody Cappelletti and Eli Ruiz, Patrick Henry certainly did their best on Friday to try and avoid the loss. Cappelletti picked up 42 receiving yards and two touchdowns, while Ruiz threw for 163 yards on 12 of 27 attempts.

La Jolla's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 35.7 points per game. As for Patrick Henry, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Jolla will challenge Christian at 7:00 p.m. on October 28th. Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while La Jolla is ranked 153rd). As for Patrick Henry, they will head out on the road to face off against Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Coronado is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
