The Orange Panthers will square off against the Southern Alamance Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Orange is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

Orange took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Chatham Central as they made off with an 11-1 win. Considering the Panthers have won five matches by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Garrett Sawyer made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, Dominic O'Keefe and Eli Horton did most of the damage at the plate: O'Keefe scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Horton went 1-for-2 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most runs O'Keefe has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gary Miller, who scored three runs while going 2-for-3.

Orange always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chatham Central only posted an OBP of .238.

Meanwhile, Southern Alamance waltzed into their contest on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They skirted past the Rockets 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Patriots have posted against the Rockets since April 5, 2017.

Southern Alamance's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Orange, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.

Orange beat Southern Alamance 10-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Panthers repeat their success, or do the Patriots have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
