Basketball Recap: Cathedral Comes Up Short

Cathedral lost against Copiah Academy back in November of 2020 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cathedral Green Wave lost 70-50 to the Copiah Academy Colonels. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Colonels are ranked 109th).

This is the second loss in a row for Cathedral and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Copiah Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Cathedral will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Copiah Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. As for Copiah Academy, they will head out to square off against St. Aloysius at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
