Volleyball Recap: Perry Victorious

Perry's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Tuscarawas Valley Trojans, sneaking past 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since October 3, 2024.

Perry had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 18-25, 25-17, 25-21, 15-7.

Perry found their leader in sophomore Iyla Brown, who had nine digs and one assist.

Perry was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 11 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Perry's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Tuscarawas Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Perry will challenge McKinley at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tuscarawas Valley, they will square off against Indian Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
