Baseball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ripley-Union-Lewis-Huntington on Tuesday, Fairfield came back down to earth. The Lions lost 12-3 to the Lynchburg-Clay Mustangs on Friday. The Lions have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Fairfield's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Lynchburg-Clay, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Fairfield is set to take on their familiar foe Eastern at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Lynchburg-Clay will challenge rival Fayetteville-Perry at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
