Football Game Recap: Russell vs. West Carter

Russell won their last match against West Carter, and it was the same story this time around. Russell were fully in charge on Friday, breezing past West Carter 49-14. 49 seems to be a good number for Russell as the squad scooped up a victory with the same point total in their previous match.

The matchup started off well for Russell, whose offense put up 21 first-half points. West Carter put up 7, so the score was 21-7 at the half. The Russell defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 7 and all but finishing the game. The win got Russell back to even at 3-3. The defeat dropped West Carter's record to 2-3.

Next week Russell take on Fleming County at 7:30 PM. Fleming County took a loss in their last contest and are no doubt out to reverse Russell's good fortune. As for West Carter, they will face off against Bath County.
