Softball Game Preview: Aliso Niguel Wolverines vs. Tesoro Titans

The Aliso Niguel Wolverines will head out to take on the Tesoro Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Tesoro took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Aliso Niguel, who comes in off a win.

Aliso Niguel will bounce into Tuesday's game after beating Mission Viejo, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Wolverines came out on top against the Diablos by a score of 4-1 on Thursday.

Olivia Kuhnel tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Aliso Niguel saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evie Scherffius, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run. Those three RBI gave Scherffius a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Tesoro's offense. They fell just short of Capistrano Valley by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Titans' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Aliso Niguel's record now sits at 13-11-1. As for Tesoro, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 11-7.
