The Aurora Central Trojans will challenge the Overland Trailblazers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Aurora Central took a loss when they played away from home on Wednesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over Thornton. Aurora Central hasn't had any issues with Thornton recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Jorge De Los Santos made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over 5.2 innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Eloy Sifuentes, who scored four runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. Kalai Bentosino was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4.
Aurora Central always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .568. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Overland got themselves on the board against Hinkley two weeks ago, but Hinkley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Thunder with a sharp 20-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Trailblazers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Like Aurora Central, Overland also got a great game from a two-way player: Uriel Hernandez. He pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Hernandez was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he hit this season.
In other batting news, Matthew Jimenez-Solis was incredible, scoring four runs and stealing seven bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Brayan Ascensio also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.
Aurora Central's record now sits at 3-5. As for Overland, their record is now an identical 3-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Aurora Central has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Overland struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Aurora Central was able to grind out a solid win over Overland in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, winning 11-7. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
