Recap: Oakbrook Prep Knights vs. Greenwood Christian Hawks

The Oakbrook Prep Knights can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. Everything went their way against Greenwood Christian as Oakbrook Prep made off with a 75-52 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Oakbrook Prep has posted against Greenwood Christian since February 11, 2021.

Oakbrook Prep's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nzuri Biggar, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points and 3 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Zenai Davis, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and five assists.

Greenwood Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Isaiah Scott-palacios and Ty Kennedy. Scott-palacios scored 17 points along with eight rebounds, while Kennedy scored 14 points. Scott-palacios has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played.

Greenwood Christian struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Oakbrook Prep pulled down 12 offensive rebounds.

Oakbrook Prep's victory bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Greenwood Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oakbrook Prep will take on First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully First Presbyterian Academy at Shannon Forest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Tuesday. As for Greenwood Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spartanburg Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Spartanburg Christian Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Greenwood Christian is ranked 103rd).
