Softball Recap: Broadway Picks Up Fourth Straight Win on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Amherst County, Broadway was happy to have turned things around on Monday. Everything went their way against the William Monroe Dragons as they made off with a 10-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Gobblers, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Broadway's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for William Monroe, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Broadway will venture away from home to challenge Harrisonburg at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Streaks have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.11 runs per game on average), something the Gobblers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for William Monroe, they will head out to take on Rockbridge County at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
