Baseball Recap: Carrboro Triumphs

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Carrboro ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the South Granville Vikings, sneaking past 4-2. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-8 two weeks ago.

Carrboro saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Joe Smith, who went 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI. Smith has become a key player for the Jaguars: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three hits, but 4-7 otherwise.

Carrboro now has a winning record of 8-7. As for South Granville, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-10.
