Softball Recap: McIntosh Chiefs vs. Ola Mustangs
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pike County, McIntosh was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-5 win over the Ola Mustangs. For the Chiefs, this counts as revenge for the 13-1 defeat the Mustangs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2023.
Reese Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits.
At the plate, Amelia Angier was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Emily Veerman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.
The victory got McIntosh back to even at 1-1.
McIntosh will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Pike County at 6:00 p.m. As for Ola, they will welcome Houston County at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Ola will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak dating back to last season alive.
