Baseball Recap: North Summit Comes Up Short

North Summit had lost nine straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 1-18 to make it ten. They lost 9-0 to the Monticello Buckaroo. The Braves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buckaroo apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

North Summit saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Easton Richins, who went 1-for-2 with one triple.

As for Monticello, the win got them back to even at 8-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

On Monticello's side, Jackson Keyes was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The Buckaroo are 7-2 when Keyes posts two or more runs, but 1-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaeden Camacho, who went 2-for-4 with two triples and two RBI.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Monticello beat North Summit by a score of 19-3 later that day.
