If Hillcrest was feeling good fresh off their 25-10 takedown of Monroe County last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jaguars came up short against the Pleasant Home Eagles on Monday, falling 24-14. The Jaguars' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Lyric Riley stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dominique Mims, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Hillcrest's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Pleasant Home, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5.

Coming up, Hillcrest will head out on the road to challenge Verbena at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pleasant Home, they will host Elba at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season.
