Flag Football Recap: Lake Havasu Comes Up Short Despite Vivian Velazquez's Big Defensive Game

Despite a strong season so far, Lake Havasu has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 13-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Mustangs. The game marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Lake Havasu didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Vivian Velazquez, Tima Atassi, and Bryn Farshler picked up one apiece. Velazquez is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as she's now made five or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Lake Havasu's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2. As for North, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Coincidentally, Lake Havasu and North will both be playing Sierra Linda the next time they take the field. The Mustangs will host the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
