Soccer Recap: Lamar Comes Up Short

Lamar fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Starkville Academy on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Starkville Academy Volunteers by a score of 2-1. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Volunteers recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Lamar's goal came courtesy of Blake Harris, who's now up to 13 this season.

Lamar's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Starkville Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Lamar nor Starkville Academy have any future games scheduled.
