Basketball Recap: Howe Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Howe had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.8 points) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They strolled past the Westville Yellowjackets with points to spare, taking the game 74-57. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 58-30 back in January.

Howe's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Slatey Jo Free led the charge by going 6 for 12 on her way to 16 points along with seven boards and five assists. Free's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 16 points. Kadynce Delt was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.

Howe's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Westville, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.

Coming up, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lions take on the Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westville has already played their next match (against Stigler), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
