Basketball Recap: Cayden Penha's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fairfield Christian Academy over Delaware Christian

Fairfield Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 52-46 heartbreaker at the hands of the Delaware Christian Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-43 back in January.

Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cayden Penha, who posted 16 points and eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Hudson Harper, who scored 11 points.

Fairfield Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Delaware Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.

Fairfield Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Delaware Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 38-27 defeat against Northside Christian on the 25th.
