Softball Recap: Greenon Takes a Loss

Greenon made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Madison Plains, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Knights fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 2-0 on Monday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 8-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Greenon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophie Blessing, who went 1-for-3 with one double.

Greenon has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season. As for Madison Plains, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

While Greenon had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
