Basketball Game Preview: Fletcher Senators vs. Stanton Blue Devils

The Fletcher Senators will take on the Stanton Blue Devils in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Fletcher's favor as the team sits on four straight wins at home while Stanton has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.

Last Friday, Fletcher didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Wolfson, but they still walked away with a 57-53 victory. Given the Senators' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 164th, while the Wolfpack are ranked 480th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fletcher's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DJ Rivera, who went 6 of 12 en route to 15 points and seven rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Kay, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points along with eight boards and four steals.

Meanwhile, Stanton had to suffer through a 74-28 loss at the hands of Sandalwood.

Stanton's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Fletcher, their win bumped their record up to 5-3.

Everything came up roses for Fletcher against Stanton when the teams last played back in January of 2018, as the squad secured an 88-58 victory. Will Fletcher repeat their success, or does Stanton have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
