After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Mary's Prep, St. Francis de Sales was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Clay Eagles a 4-0 shutout. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 7-3 win the Eagles walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Not much got past Tommy Woycik, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Clay off the board.

At the plate, Drew Tucker was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Gabe Lisowski, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

St. Francis de Sales' record now sits at 6-3. As for Clay, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Francis de Sales will head out to challenge Anthony Wayne at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Clay, they will venture away from home to take on Ottawa Hills at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. The Green Bears will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
