Basketball Recap: Flagler Palm Coast Proves Higher State Rank Is No Mistake

Flagler Palm Coast's tournament run continued when they took on Eau Gallie on Friday. The Flagler Palm Coast Bulldogs enjoyed a cozy 56-42 victory over the Eau Gallie Commodores. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 266th, while the Commodores are ranked 593rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Anthony Hampton was his usual excellent self, going 7 for 9 on his way to 22 points. Roman Caliendo was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 14 points.

Flagler Palm Coast was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eau Gallie only posted eight assists.

Despite the loss, Eau Gallie had strong showings from Quentin Hardin, who posted 15 points, and Elijah Tynes, who had ten points and five rebounds.

The win got Flagler Palm Coast back to even at 7-7. As for Eau Gallie, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Flagler Palm Coast didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 58-47 victory against Deltona on the 4th. As for Eau Gallie, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 61-41 defeat against Legacy Charter on the 4th.
