Softball Recap: South Comes Up Short

South was the 9-8 winner over Ellet when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Rebels fell 6-1 to the Orangemen on Tuesday. The Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

South saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Halle Zupancic, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple.

South's loss dropped their record down to 6-9-1. As for Ellet, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 15-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South will welcome Riverside at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Beavers will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something the Rebels surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ellet, they will face off against Norton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Orangemen's pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season.
