Soccer Game Preview: Sonoma Valley vs. Petaluma

The Sonoma Valley Dragons will take on the Petaluma Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Sonoma Valley's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Napa 6-0. The Dragons haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Sonoma Valley's offense was hitting Napa from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Brianna Jurasek led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Meanwhile, Petaluma made easy work of Justin-Siena on Thursday and carried off a 4-0 win. Considering the Trojans have won seven games by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Petaluma has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 26 goals over those four contests. As for Sonoma Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-8-5.
