Game recap

Northmont (Clayton, Ohio) jumped out to an early lead against Beavercreek (Ohio) and never looked back on the way to a 22-13 victory on Saturday.

The Thunderbolts put up 15 points in the opening frame. Northmont scored on a touchdown run by Isaiah Brown, a two-point conversion, a touchdown pass by Cameron Belton to Dominique Stollings and a touchdown.

NHS was up 15-6 at the half after taking the lead on a touchdown run by Brown in the first quarter.

The Clayton school's standout player in the win was Belton. The senior quarterback threw two touchdowns.

Airius Moore made a difference for the Beavers. The junior ran for two touchdowns.

The Thunderbolts entered the contest giving up 19.0 points per game this year. Northmont held firm on the defensive front, and kept Beavercreek below the 18.0 points it had been averaging per game.

NHS got revenge for last year's 15-7 loss to BHS with the victory.

The defeat comes as a step back for Beavercreek, which notched a 44-16 victory over Fairborn in its previous outing. With the win the Thunderbolts extended their winning streak to three games. The loss snapped the Beavers' 2-game winning streak.

In a Greater Western Ohio - Central game next week Northmont (4-2) takes on Centerville, and Beavercreek (3-3) will go up against Wayne also in a Greater Western Ohio - Central game.
