Basketball Recap: Gar-Field Takes a Loss

Gar-Field was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were beaten by the Osbourn Eagles 56-27. The Red Wolves were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Gar-Field still got an impressive performance from Icys Carroll, who posted 13 points and seven rebounds. That was a full 48.1% of Gar-Field's points, marking the 19th time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Logan Sherill was another key player, putting up two points and four steals.

Gar-Field's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Osbourn, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-17.

Gar-Field didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-12 loss against Potomac Senior on the 7th. As for Osbourn, they have also already played their next matchup, a 27-20 defeat against Annandale on the 6th.
