Baseball Recap: Three Straight Road Wins for Maryvale

While Maryvale put up some runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Pioneer. The Flyers walked away with a 5-0 victory over the Panthers. This was payback for the Flyers, who suffered a 7-3 loss the last time these two teams met.

Jacob Kuciel made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

In other batting news, Luke Altieri and Jaxsyn Moritz did most of the damage at the plate: Altieri went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Moritz went 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.

Maryvale's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-2. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Pioneer, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Maryvale will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Panthers: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
