Softball Recap: Mishawaka Extends Road Winning Streak to Ten

Mishawaka lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Huntington North, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Saturday's game. The Cavemen were the clear victors by a 21-0 margin over the Vikings on Saturday. For the Cavemen, this counts as revenge for the 9-7 victory the Vikings walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Camila Rameriz was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two doubles and two RBI.

In other batting news, Holly Shine was incredible, scoring five runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Karmen Frazier, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.

Mishawaka always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .643. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Huntington North only posted an OBP of .250.

Mishawaka's win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.4 runs. As for Huntington North, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Mishawaka beat the Vikings by a score of 21-4 later that day.
