Softball Recap: Midview Middies vs. Avon Eagles

Midview had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Avon Eagles on Monday and snuck past 5-4. This was a revenge match for Midview, as the team was forced to settle for a 5-2 loss when these two played last Friday.

Savannah Holcomb was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Holcomb has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive pitching appearances. Holcomb was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Nina Ballachino was incredible, going 3-for-4 with a home run, five RBI, and a double. Another player making a difference was Dezire Thomas, who went 1-for-4 with a triple and a run.
