Basketball Recap: LAMP Takes a Loss

LAMP was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were dealt a 57-28 loss at the hands of the Billingsley Bears. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Golden Tigers of the 42-14 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Billingsley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alana Jones, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 14 boards. Jones is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 34 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Megan Chandler, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 18 points along with six rebounds and three steals.

LAMP's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for Billingsley, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

LAMP will challenge Beauregard at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Beauregard will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something LAMP surely won't give up without a fight. As for Billingsley, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 41-24 victory against Autaugaville on the 28th.
