Softball Recap: Swansboro Snaps Four-Game Streak of Wins on the Road

After flying high against West Craven last Monday, Swansboro came back down to earth. Swansboro fell just short of the White Oak Vikings by a score of 4-2 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Pirates have suffered since February 28th.

Payton Jensen and Katherine Cahall stepped up to the plate in a big way. Jensen scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3, while Cahall went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was Cahall's first of the season.

Swansboro's defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5. As for White Oak, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-4.

When Swansboro and White Oak next hit the field, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Swansboro will try to stop West Carteret's eight-game winning streak when they meet at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, White Oak will challenge Richlands and their three-game winning streak at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
