Basketball Recap: Eastern Comes Up Short

Eastern lost to Belpre back in December of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Eagles fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 57-55.

Eastern dropped their record down to 5-11 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Belpre, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Eastern and Belpre could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings. The Eagles (ranked 566th) will meet Point Pleasant (ranked 130th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Belpre will face off against Marietta at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (550 vs. 72).
