After flying high against Fellowship Academy on Friday, Victory Baptist Academy came back down to earth. The Victory Baptist Academy Patriots took a 49-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Varsity Opponent on Friday. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Varsity Opponent apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Victory Baptist Academy lost, don't look at Hudson Ruhl. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 13 en route to 18 points along with eight boards and three steals. Ruhl has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaac Johnson, who posted two points and 18 rebounds.

Victory Baptist Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-6.

Victory Baptist Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 52-48 defeat against Mid-Moore Christian on the 18th. Varsity Opponent has also already played their next matchup, a 48-43 loss against Mountainair on the 17th.
