Basketball Recap: Silas Walker's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Temple Christian over Regents

Temple Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. The matchup between them and the Regents Lions didn't end well, with the Temple Christian Crusaders falling 69-55. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Crusaders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 52-37 back in December of 2024.

Several Crusaders players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Silas Walker, who posted 17 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was Carter Cash, who scored 12 points and four steals.

It was another big night for Morris Hoffman, who went 6 for 9 en route to 25 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals for Regents. Hoffman is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Elijah Anokye-Gyambrah was another key player, going 7 of 14 on his way to 15 points.

Temple Christian's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Regents, their record now sits at 8-1.

Temple Christian has already played their next game, a 47-45 win against Blue Ridge Christian on the 17th. As for Regents, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 55-37 victory against Ridgeview Christian on the 17th.
