Wharton came into Friday's contest looking for another win against King, but Javon Russell wouldn't allow it. The Lions took down the Wildcats 73-57 on Friday for which the team can thank Russell, who dropped a double-double with 29 points and 12 rebounds. He also posted five blocks, which is notable because King is undefeated when he posts at least three blocks, but 1-3 otherwise.

When it comes to explaining why Wharton lost, don't look at Nicholas Korpi. Despite the final result, he posted 22 points. Jordan Da Silva also deserves some recognition as he scored his first point of the season.

King now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Wharton, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

King has already played their next matchup, a 77-40 win against Brandon on the 9th. As for Wharton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-52 defeat against Carrollwood Day on the 6th.
