Softball Recap: Crowley Gent vs. Welsh Greyhounds

It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Crowley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They skirted past the Welsh Greyhounds 14-12. For the Gent, this counts as revenge for the 9-6 victory the Greyhounds walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.

Zailey Smith made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
